Real estate sales and promotion fits naturally onto the web. Computers are ideal at making specific information available on demand: Each property has different specific features: location, address, size in square feet, design, neighborhood attributes, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, freeway access, schools, parking and more. Because property information is of most value a the home or building's availabity status, new details, and and comparable sales data change, the Web can give much better information than Real estate magazines or newspaper "home" sections ever could.

Because of Real Estate brokerages strong sales and profit motivations', a search engine's results are often twisted by how hard a given agent or firm worked to reach the top of the list. Purely informational sites will be harder to find than those with big incentives to earn commisions.

My, Tom Norian, investment real estate broker since 1988, input comes from my personal experience. Broad as my experience is, I recognize that all potential investors should consult with mutiple potential agents. Use your accumulatated buisness judgement that has giving you the money to invest or the authority to make decisions for a buisness! Ask questions of mutiple resources. Even if you eventually settle with your first impression, your search will have given you knowledge and questions to better trust the information the expert you use presents to you.

In the rare circumstance that the well regarded and highly experienced person that you interviewed was not sufficeintly motivated to do the extra work to get you the best deal, you will be glad that you took the time to explore the alternatives that led yout to the motivated agent or broker willing to ruffle feathers or do the work necessary to get you the supperior deal

• Are you comfortable communicating with this person.
• Are they experts in the type of property you hope to purchase?
• Are they committed to helping you full time?
• Are they well regarded by their peers in the specific market you are intersted in?
• Are they eager to answer your questions and confident to direct you to other expert sources?

ICSC is a reatail These groups are more than window dressing. Membership and activity in theser organization truly carries with it a sustained interest in respective real estate field, required review of activity and membership cost is not insignificant. Members do tend to interact and cooperating in a way that builds proffesionalism and expertise for perninent types of properties, subject to my hiring tips above.

Be sure to join you local apartmenet owners association, even if you only own a few units. They give you access to regional publications and write up law changes and OFTEN even give you disocunts on garbage pick up and appliances that more than pay for your membership!

wsj commercial The Wall Street Jounal's real estate classified section are a place where people actually look every thursday. I'd want my mall or office buidling listed there.
